This week has been a bit crazy for the Elson household. Many of you may know that Shane is working on his Master's degree, and this week is the last week of the semester for him. This means assignments are due! So we have had a few late nights this week to say the least. At the end of last year, I was fed up with all of the study so I asked him to take a break. When this semester started, he did not sign up for any classes. For 8 weeks-we had NO study UNTIL a world religion class was offered. I guess the Lord softened my heart on the issue, and I saw the need for Shane to actually finish his study before we return overseas. This class had been so awesome for him, and we have both learned a lot about the people we will be working with in Asia! He even had to interview someone from another religion. Bundaberg doesnt offer much opportunity to interview someone "in person" following the religion we were after, so Shane's professor suggested we try and find a chat room and interview someone online. That is just what we did, and after interviewing a guy from Syria-Shane had 60 pages worth of answers to all his questions. It was really interesting reading it all. Now...he only has 1 paper left to write and he will be done with this class. After finishing this class, he will only have 4 classes left and will graduate in May 2011! What a day that will be! Please say a prayer for him that he will get his last assignment finished by Monday morning (that is when it is due).
The boys and I are headed to the Sunshine Coast today! I think this is the longest drive I have ever done alone with the boys (about 3 hours). Shane left yesterday because he is there at a work conference. We thought it would be nice to meet him there and have some family time. We arent sure if we are coming back Saturday or Sunday (depending on how his assignment is going). The boys are so excited about going to a motel. I guess they still remember our trip to Asia because they think we are going on a plane as well. They love motels and they sleep so well in the same bed! We are taking the boys to Australia Zoo (Steve Irwin's Zoo) on Saturday. I hope I'm up for all the walking-it doesnt come so easy these days when I am carrying around so much weight. We think the boys will love it though. They love animals, and they love Bindi The Jungle Girl. Please say a prayer for safe travels and a good time away for us all.
