We Made It!

"We Made It"

Those were the exact words out of Noah's mouth as we arrived in Cairns last night!!!!

It was a long trip to say the least. On Friday, Noah kept saying that he had a headache and wanted to go home...Dave kept causing trouble by eating the foam on his car seat...and Maggie decided that she hates the car, so she will cry and cry and cry and cry!!!

We ended up leaving late on Thursday (around 5:30pm) because Shane got off work late. We had a pretty good drive to Rockhampton (only had to stop once to feed Maggie) and stayed the night there in a hotel.

Friday was our biggest day-driving 720kms in 11hours (stopping every 3 hours to feed Maggie and take Noah and Dave to the toilet). What a big day!!! Dave decided to pooh his pants at our hotel on Friday morning-so it didn't start out too well!!! Other than that though, both kids have been great about going to the toilet and have not had anymore accidents. We stayed Friday night with Aunty Gayle and Uncle Rusty (and their 2 cats of course). It was good to see them again and catch up with them.

We had a really rough night with the boys on Friday night (Maggie did great and we didn't hear a peep from her). It was really unusual that they were complaining so much because they are both really good travellers. So, Aunty Gayle and Uncle Rusty had a medical clinic right down the road from their house that opened at 7am and that bulk bills (we dont have to pay anything). Shane and Mum Elson took the boys in at 7 and we found out that both boys had throat and ear infection. Now, they are both on antibiotics. Noah's ears were really bad and he will be on the medicine for a bit longer. We finally got away by morning tea time.

We stopped for lunch at Kerrie-Ann and Steve's house near Ingham. The boys had a good time playing with Abby and Ella. It was a real blessing to spend time with such faithful friends and supporters! We really had a good time and enjoyed eating all the lovely food that Kerrie-Ann made us.

After that, we then headed to Mission Beach. We knew that I would need to feed Maggie again and because we have never been there-we thought it would be a good place to take a break. We got our pictures made with the big cassowary (last time we were on deputation...a cassowary chased us through the bush)!!!! Mission beach is so beautiful and we really are glad that we got to visit.

We ended up arriving in Cairns around 7:30pm and boy were we glad to get here! We have taken so many pictures and have some great video! We didn't end up all having tea till about 8 and then we all crashed we were so tired. We hit the ground running this morning....but I will just have to wait till tomorrow to update you on that!!!!  Thanks so much for all your prayers and we are so thankful to the Lord for his travelling mercies!

  1. Some great pics Mar! Glad you all made it safe and sound and I pray the boys get better real quick - I know how painful it is to have sick kids at home let alone when traveling. All the best from the Watsons! <3

  2. all I can say is you are a good woman. I just don't see how you do what you do. I know why I just don't see how.

that pink bag had to come from your Mom. It looks just like Tina!

I will keep you and your sweet little family in my prayers.
