We left Nashville, Tennessee, on Friday morning and drove all the way to Asheville, North Carolina. We didnt leave until lunch time so we basically spent most of the afternoon driving. We got to Asheville just in time for dinner and sleep!
We got up on Saturday morning and headed to Pinehurst, North Carolina, where we spent Saturday and Sunday night. On Saturday, I got to see one of my Samford friends, Adrienne (along with her cute girls-Keira and Sophie). It had been 10 years since I have seen Adrienne, and I hope that it isnt another 10 years before we see each other again!!! The kids got a chance to swim at the indoor pool at the hotel. They just loved it!
Saturday night, we had dinner with a friend from Shane's school, Bill and his wife, Rebekah. Wow...they are such awesome people. They had so many toys at their house for the kids. They also had a gift bag for each kid with some goodies in it. It is such a blessing to have people think of the kids.
On Sunday, we spoke at New Covenant Church (Bill and Rebekah's church). Noah, Dave, and Maggie had a great time at Sunday School. Shane shared and preached in the service. What a great church! They were so supportive of us and even had a special time of prayer for us at the end. The only regret that I have is that I did not get a picture of us at the church! We then went and had lunch with some friends from the church, and Shane ended up meeting up again with Bill for tea/coffee while I put the kids to bed at the hotel.
North Carolina was great. Such a beautiful place, and I am so thankful that we got a chance to spend time with some special people there!
