We made it!

Well, we all made it safe and sound...all in one piece! We left Bundaberg on Thursday afternoon and spent the night in Brisbane. We got up bright and early on Friday morning and headed to the airport. Our flight left at noon and we would not arrive to Atlanta until Saturday afternoon (Australia time)---that is 24+ hours of travel time with 3 kids!!!

On the flight from Brisbane to LA, I think the kids only slept about an hour. Maggie kept going to sleep and we would put her in the baby bassinet on the plane only to have to wake her up again because of turbulence. It was frustrating. In the end, Shane ended up just letting her sleep on him.

Once, we got to LA, we only had 3 hours until our flight left for Atlanta. It ended up taking 2 and 1/2 hours for us to get our bags and get through customs. This was the longest it has ever taken for us. Therefore, we were basically running through the airport to catch the flight on time.

The kids slept the entire way from LA to Atlanta so that was nice. Shane and I didn't sleep at all until our heads hit the pillow in Atlanta so it was pretty rough for both of us.

It is good to know that is all behind us now. It was 9 Degrees Celsius in LA when we arrived and colder than that in Atlanta. Nice and refreshing after the Queensland heat, but still freezing cold for us all!!!

Shane is still in Atlanta. My dad has not been well so the kids and I travelled another 5 hours in the car to stay with my parents this week. Shane will join us on Friday. He has the conference at his school in Atlanta. He is enjoying it and was spending a good amount of time in the library today studying! My sister ended up coming to Atlanta and drove us home on Saturday. It was good that I didnt have to worry about driving us home and I could just rest on the drive back.

So far, we have just been staying at home the last day or so. We took the boys out to Walmart (Big W) today. I was a little overwhelmed by all of the options...so many good choices here. We got the boys some warm pjs and some sneakers (sandals dont work so well in the cold) and we found some good deals on girl clothes too. Mom bought Maggie a top and pants for only $2!!!!!

I had my first taste of Mexican food tonight. Oh how I have missed it!!!! Who know that chips and salsa could bring such happiness!!

Well...I think that is about it for now. Be thinking of Shane in Atlanta. He is sharing a bit over the next few days. Please pray that we would all start sleeping normally again. Dave has had the worst time with jet lag. He has probably woken up the most in the night. The other day, Noah woke up at 2:30am and told me he was waiting to get up!!! Just pray that the adjustment would happen sooner rather than later. I need some sleep!
