A few thoughts..

Some thoughts...

*I am really loving school. I cant wait to go everyday. I am powering on and will finish my first textbook this week! You have no idea how excited I am. I will have my evaluation after Christmas, but I am just so happy about getting the first book behind me.

*I really love the people here, especially my teachers at school. I feel like we are becoming fast friends!

*Dave and Noah went to a birthday party last Saturday. A few of the teachers and kids from Kidsland (Dave's old school) were there, since then Dave has started stuttering again. A leap forward and then a few steps back. I dont feel like it is really bad (the stuttering), but obviously it caused him some stress. We didnt know that the teachers would be there, but there is nothing we can do about that. His behaviour took a bit of a dive as well. So once again, we are trying to recover from his experience with that school. Deep down I feel like more went on that we know about, but we can only talk to him about what we know and encourage him to share with us. I really wish a counselor would come through here so that Dave could go and spend some time talking with a third party. We can pray right? He has had some big nightmares since the party as well. So keep praying for him.

*I feel weird about this Christmas. We are far from home and loved ones. All of our friends here prefer to have Christmas alone. I dont think it is a "rude" thing, but that is just what they are use to. We are use to always being with people so this Christmas feels a bit lonely I guess.

*I am looking forward to Noah's Christmas play on Thursday night! He is a towns person in "The Christmas Carol"-should be interesting.

*The fish in our well (remember that post) have died and it is disgusting seeing them floating in the well. They will sink after awhile no doubt. So, now we still have a major mossie problem. Shane is going to try and have the well covered. Until then, I dont want to go out to the backyard. We are just bitten so bad by mossies.

*A kid at Noah's school has had dengue fever. This has caused me a bit of concern. Noah has gotten bitten real bad by mossies at school. In fact, he looks like he has the chicken pox on his legs, but it is just bites. The chances are pretty high that the kid got dengue from the mossies at the school because he is there during the day (dengue mossies are during the day/malaria at night). I have now started putting repellent on Noah every morning. A few friends have had to be medically evacuated because of dengue and Noah is quite skinny so I just worry about him getting it. Another big prayer point I guess!

*I've noticed some major plaque build up on Dave's teeth. So, I called a dentist (recommended by a friend) and made an appointment (in the local lingo) and Dave will get his teeth cleaned next Monday! The dentist seemed to think that because Dave will lose those teeth that it doesnt matter about cleaning them. Really? The mindset here is so different.

*Shane was feeling really wiped out last week so after much rest, he has recovered again. Pray for strength for him!

*I cannot wait until our school holidays! JUST CANT WAIT! Friday is our last day of class.

Well...Maggie is crying for me so I better keep moving.
