Dave's birthday was great! Quite nice and relaxing. I made the cake myself. And yes, it completely fell apart. I managed to put it back together-It is amazing what icing can do. Our oven has issues and isnt temperature set. That means that I light the oven every time and wait for it to heat up. It doesnt gauge the temperature and I cant set the temperature. It just heats and cooks. So I have so many issues with using an oven here. It is no surprise that the caked ended up a little challenged! I was going to try and draw a Tigger on the cake, but after the cake fell apart Shane decided he was done with cakes and went off in search of something Tigger that we could put on top of the cake instead. For only 3 dollars, He came back with an icing sheet picture of Tigger and Winnie the Pooh. I was so happy. So the picture is edible! So cool and it looked great! I'm over cakes too....so over it!
We had some friends over (they have 4 kids) and a couple that Dave loves from Australia. It was just enough people without having stress. We had cake and coke for morning tea, and they left just before lunch. Then we had the rest of the day to enjoy our Dave and have pizza for tea! It was a great day. Thanks so much for all of the cards, emails, and phone calls on his special day. He was in Heaven!
