I am trying my hardest to get the kids playing outside. If we were home in Australia, this would be no problem. In fact, the kids use to go out at Shane's parents house for ages just playing in the yard. Now, it is so different for them. They dont want to go out much. The locals have bothered them in the past and even though we are in our courtyard where no one will touch them, they still seem reluctant. We do have rats and cats and other visitors, but the kids havent mentioned being scared of them. They know we have lots of mosquitoes and that they can not go outside without mossie repellent on or shoes on. So maybe it is a bother to deal with all of that. I simply dont know. However, we bought them bikes to help them try to get out (for Christmas), and that has worked somewhat. It is a bummer though that every time we go out something breaks on the bike. It sends us all a little "crazy" I think and is a real let down. So, I was shopping last week, and saw some spray bottles for 20 cents each. So I bought one each for the kids. The best thing ever. Why did we buy bikes for Christmas? We should have just bought spray bottles! Dave, Maggie, and I are attempting to go out for regular walks again. Please pray the kids will get outside at least for some part of the day!
