This last week the winds here have been crazy! Many attribute it to the beginning of the Chinese New Year (last Monday). My view is that it is due to a low pressure system off WA (maybe a cyclone by now) and a high pressure system over Islands north of here. You choose which is right :).
In any case we have had 50+ km/hr most days which is challenging for a 90kg guy on a 125cc motorbike. As you can imagine, the combination does not create stellar aerodynamics! Throw 1 or 2 kids on as well and it makes it a down right adventure.
Everyone has stories of advertising billboards (everywhere) and big tree branches crashing down next to as they ride on their motorbikes. People are loosing parts of their roofs and thankfully our house is still intact despite the roof leaking in most rooms. The damage is all relative :).
