Mother's Day and Other Stuff...

What a great day I have had today just spending time with my boys! I got treated to a nice breakfast in bed complete with gifts! The boys got me some nice lavendar soap and a candle (I've been trying to have relaxing baths lately to help me sleep better). So all in all-it was a great Mother's Day, and I am so thankful for my little boys.

It has been another busy week in the Elson household this past week. Do we ever NOT have a busy week? Shane finally finished his last paper on Saturday at around 3:00pm. So now his World Religions class is behind us and we are just awaiting his marks to see how he did. I really hate assignment time-especially at the end of a term. Papers and exams really stress me out-even if I am not the one doing them!!!  I'm just glad it is all over and he has this week off of study. His next class starts in a week! He will be taking Values and Ethics. This class will also last 8 weeks. A normal class is 16 weeks-so this is an intensive class and is shorter. Really, it is just more work in a shorter time. Pray for us!

Our brochures have finally gone to print. We were even able to email them out this week! We will be getting the hard copies this week! It is an exciting time for us-but it seems like there is so much to do. Tuesday, we are sharing with a group at our home fellowship, and we head off to Hervey Bay on Sunday to share with our friends there. We love catching up with everyone and just spending time with friends is so refreshing for us. The boys love playing with the Risser girls!!! Our trip to North Queensland in September is really starting to come together and we have been greatly encouraged by this as well. We should be finalizing a lot of things this week-so please be in prayer about this.

We have had a busy weekend with the men's ministry. On Saturday, we had a family BBQ for our church down at the beach. It started at 3:00pm (exactly the same time Shane finished his paper). Needless to say, it felt like we were running from one thing to the next! Today, the men were in charge of morning tea for Mother's Day. There is a great group of guys helping out with the men's ministry these days. What a blessing!

I think that probably about sums up our week. We still have a little bit of preparation to do for our speaking this week/weekend. Please pray for this-that we would use our time effectively. Please pray for our quiet times and that we would just take that time to just seek the Lord and find rest in Him amongst all the busyness. Please pray also that we would spend time enjoying the boys for the blessing that they are. I have been feeling so tired lately and that makes patience a bit of a challenge.

Thanks so much for your prayers. I just finished reading The Cambridge Seven by John Pollock. I was so encouraged by the power of prayer. One man prayed for people to come to China and God answered that prayer as seven Cambridge students volunteered to serve God in China. Such a great book! Never underestimate the power of prayer!
