David

I actually cannot believe that I am writing this post. Yesterday, I wrote a post telling you how good Dave's new class was going. Well, I was wrong. So as you read this post, just stop and pray for David. Please pray for our kids, and that the enemy would leave them alone. Pray for their protection, and that the Lord would continue to shelter them from the evil that is thrown at us.

Yesterday, Shane went to pick David up from school. His teacher told Shane that she had tied Dave's hands and feet up with tape as a punishment. She seemed to think there was nothing wrong with this punishment. She just seemed to think it was normal. Well, you can only imagine my horror at hearing that my son had his hands and feet tied up at school. Dave seems to be acting normal. We sat him down and asked him what happened, and how he felt about it. He said he was scared. He hasnt been stuttering or anything like that. He is sleeping fine and showing no signs of anxiety or stress. However, this has hit us pretty hard. The situation with his school has been ongoing, and has been really draining, especially on Shane.

Shane has a meeting with the owner of the school tomorrow morning. Dave is not going back to the school, but we feel it is important that they know that tying up a child's hands and feet are inappropriate. These teacher are very well trained, and this behaviour is not accepted in the local culture either.

Please pray for Shane as he goes to school to sort this out tomorrow. Please pray that Dave would continue to deal well with the situation. I pray everyday that the Lord would shelter the kids and protect them. I really feel that He has. I know that may sound crazy, but it could have been worse. It really could have, and I am thankful that we have had this happen so that we can remove Dave from this school and prevent any other things going wrong. Hopefully too, other families can be spared from this happening today.

My quiet time this morning was in Psalms...."Lord our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth. Who have set your glory about the heavens! When I consider Your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the star which You have ordained, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you visit him?"

I was just reminded of how much the Lord loves us. He loves David even more than I do. So we will continue to praise the Lord in the good and the bad, and just thank him for the privilege of raising such a wonderful little boy!!!!
