Romans 8:28

I sat down this morning for my quiet time...focusing on the promise that "God is Always Good." The memory verse for this is Romans 8:28. This just so happens to be Noah's memory verse that he is saying at school today. Isnt God wonderful to teach me about this verse the same time that he is teaching my son.

This promise is really special to me because it brought me back to him and to his purpose for my life during a difficult time. My favorite verse, Psalm 27:13, "I would have despaired if I had not believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living." God is good, and we will see it and know it in our life time. What a promise!

All of us who belong to the Lord are in the school of suffering arent we? When we are suffering, our nose is against the wall and we cant see anything but brick. We dont recognize God's goodness, but as time goes by, and we take a step back, and we have more time and separation from the crisis, we can make out the mural that is painted on the wall. Eventually, we can see that we are part of a much larger picture that God was painting. Faith becomes sight and our eyes gaze on the goodness of God's promises.

I think that God is not so much concerned about the details as he is about developing my character and having me embrace the righteousness that he is installing in my life. I am so thankful for all the Lord is doing in me. I am learning to trust at a deeper level than ever before. James MacDonald says, "God is ordering the circumstances of your life in such a way that you will have to trust him."

So, I pray you all can be refreshed this day as I have been knowing that God is truly good in all he does. Trusting in His promises is such a privilege! Taste and see that the Lord is good!!!!!
