I only have my class this afternoon and then we are on a week break! I cannot tell you how excited I am! For the first time ever, the boys have packed their own backpacks. Yay for independence!
Please pray for us as Shane found out a few days ago that he has paratyphoid. This is what I had a few months ago, and it takes awhile to get over it. His symptoms are a bit different from mine, and we were a bit shocked to find out that is what he had. We are thankful though to at least know what it is. I have also started feeling a bit sick. I dont think it is related. I just dont feel like eating and my stomach hurts. So, we are taking a pharmacy with us on the trip so that we will have medicine on hand.
Shane and I both know how to read medical results now to see what the levels are to know if we have paratyphoid or not and dengue fever as well. I am shocked at how much "doctoring" I am able to do these days!!!!!
I also managed to get bitten by this acidic beetle. Yeah...sounds like something out of a horror movie. It is about the size of an ant. So I have a major rash under my arm. It hurt so bad in the beginning, but it is getting better now. It looks horrible, but at least it isnt spreading. We have a great expat community here and they send out an email about these bugs and how not to touch them. When I saw the picture of what a bite looks like, I knew exactly that is what had happened to me. The beetle must have crawled in my shirt when I was drying it outside! Once again....just thankful to know where the rash came from I guess.
So....please pray for our health as we travel tomorrow. We have a 2-4 hour (depending on traffic, demonstrations, and other stuff) drive to the airport. Then, an hour flight to the island next to us. After that, we have a 3 hour drive to our hotel. Oh yeah...our flight leaves at 5 in the morning!!! At least we are on holidays though and have a break from school! We then have 3 days to ourselves before our leadership meetings start. I am looking forward to all of it. We are going really well, but do feel it is time for a break for a few days. Pray for rest and refreshment as a family. Pray for these leadership meetings. We could use some spiritual refreshment as well.
Not sure if I will have internet where we are, but I will post plenty of photos when we get back! Have a wonderful Easter!
