Moving Forward

I would have blogged sooner, but we have been having internet problems. This is pretty common. I really wanted to blog last night to ask for prayer today, but things were just not working. So...if you prayed for us today! That is awesome because we needed it!!

On Monday, we started language at a local school. It is awesome, and we love it. Shane goes in the morning for 3 hours, and I go in the afternoon. It is set up the same way that our language school was in Vietnam so we are really familiar with how things work. I just love writing and grammar!!!!!!!  We are probably going to increase our hours to 4 hours each a day at the school. We have a really good foundation that we are starting with, and we are picking up things really quickly (or so it seems).

We ended up having an important meeting today with the owner of Dave's school and the principal as well. This was sort of unexpected and last minute. Dave has been asking to go back to school. He also told me today that he wants to go home to Australia!!! So please dont think that we do whatever our children ask!!!! We have really been praying about his school situation and what would be the best course of action and how we could be the most God honouring in all that we do.

After meeting today, we have decided that we will send Dave back to school. BUT guess who the new room mom is? That is right. ME! I'm going back to school as well to help out in his class. Dave was so happy when I told him he could go back to school. It will be a good solid 2 hours of language learning (or language practice) for me (most of the school is in the local lingo). In fact, today, we could only speak to the principal in the local language. I think she could understand English really well, but could not speak as well as she could hear.

This will be good for us to reestablish our relationship with the school and to start to develop trust again. I have been impressed with the changes that have been made and the way that the school has handled the situation. Maybe I can develop a good friendship with the teachers, and I can be of assistance to them in some way. They seem blown away that we have forgiven so easily...but really we have learned about forgiveness from Dave. He has a real forgiving heart, and we have learned much through his little eyes these past few weeks.

So...I wasnt able to blog yesterday to get you to pray about the meeting today. God did indeed answer our prayers regardless! We feel that the way was made very clear to us. I am thankful for the opportunity to just walk alongside Dave during this time and spend time with him at school. So if you have a chance, say a special prayer for us on Thursday as we go to school! I will go to school with Dave from 10-12 and then I will go to MY language school from 12:30 to 3:30! And once I get home, it kids, homework, and tea for me. (Shane is enjoying studying in the morning so that he can have his afternoon sleep when the kids do)!!!!!!

Some time this week, we have a few boxes arriving from Australia. With all that has been going on, we decided to go ahead and have our things sent. It is mostly school books, clothes, and some of the kids toys. We really thought it would be good for the boys to get some of their old toys as a special surprise! It will be like Christmas for us all. We have sent everything unaccompanied baggage, and it should arrive at the end of the week. Shane will then have to drive 2 hours each way to pick it all up. I have a bad feeling that it is all going to happen on Thursday! Ah!!! Life is never boring! So could you just pray for the timing of everything. I still dont feel comfortable enough to drive the kids by myself without Shane in the car (yelling instructions at me)!!! So, I will have to take a taxi. It just isnt as simple as it seems! I would really love to have Shane here for when Dave goes to school on Thursday.

Well...I think I have enough to keep you praying for awhile. I will try to take some pictures tomorrow and post them! Thanks for praying...you really uphold us.
