The Volcano=AWESOME!

Yesterday, we left at 7am to go to the volcano! It was so awesome! It was the best thing we have done here so far. It actually ended up taking us till about 11am to get there, but the drive was so worth it. It was nice and cool. Beautiful weather. We were really in the bush....the peace and quiet was amazing! We ended up driving almost all the way down to the volcano, but because we were not in a 4 wheel drive we decided not to go any further. It is possible to ride a horse all the way up to the edge of the crater. There are actually 2 craters. We were on the edge of the big crater, but there is a smaller crater inside that the horse can take you to the top of. We will just have to do that next time. It was just an amazing experience. We had some trouble getting back up the volcano in the car, but some locals helped us. I only worried when I smelt a burning smell as Shane was burning out our clutch.

A real answer to prayer was the people that helped us. People helped us get our car back up the volcano. At one point, we all needed to go to the bathroom. A woman came up to us, and asked us to go to her house to go to the toilet. She gave us snacks, tea, and a nice clean normal toilet. What a blessing! We talked to her for awhile, and found out that she is very devout in her faith. She has even made the journey to Mecca. We were just grateful that we didnt have to use a squatty (Well....in the afternoon...we werent so lucky)! I must say that I think I have perfected the squatty potty. I didnt even get anything on my shoes! AND that takes skill! We had lunch at a local restaurant on the floor before we headed home. No one got sick! YAY!!!

I hope you enjoy all these photos. Remember to say a special prayer for us. Shane leaves tomorrow, and I have to pick Noah up from school on my own. On Wednesday, I need to get him to school and pick him up in the afternoon. Then, Thursday, we all drive 2 hours to the airport, and fly to the island to the north of us (where we will live after language). Pray for us in all of this...it is a big week.

Well...enjoy the photos.

We are taking this photo from the big crater, and we are looking at the small crater inside. Inside the volcano, is sea sand. Can you believe that? How Great is Our God! SEA SAND!

This sign says, "Do Not Enter." This didnt stop Shane. This is why we had trouble getting back up the volcano!
