Sorry I havent posted in a few days. We had a really busy weekend. I ended up doing ok driving the kids to the birthday party. It started raining on the way home (and our windshield wipers are broken), but I got home before the heavy rain hit. Shane has now fixed the windshield wipers. Thanks Shane!
On Saturday night, we had a BBQ at a friend's house. It was really nice, but we all had a late night. They grilled hamburgers for us. Wow...did it taste good. We havent had food from a grill since early July! We have seen some grills here, but they are just too expensive.
On Sunday, we went to the Western fellowship. We havent been in awhile. To be honest, it is often more trouble than it is worth. It is nice to see friends and catch up, but that is about all we get out of it. Maggie screams when we leave her. Two of the locals mind the babies (Maggie's age), and they just cant handle a screaming child so one of us ends up staying with her. Things with David are touch and go, and most often one of us needs to stay with him as well. That means that neither of us get to listen to the service. So really...what is the point? We end up coming home exhausted from having to deal with the kids.
Yesterday, I woke up feeling like I had the flu so I stayed in bed all day sleeping. I cant believe that I slept that much. Shane came home at 10am, and I went to bed from then on. I got up to eat and then I went back to sleep, and woke up this morning at my normal time of 5:30am!! I am feeling a lot better....still a little flu like though. I am back at it today...with language class starting at 1 and going till 5.
We have a big week this week. We have Noah's school culture night/Thanksgiving on Thursday night, and then we have our proper Thanksgiving with our friends on Friday night. I am actually going to start cooking some tomorrow. I am going to take a pumpkin pie into our teachers at school on Thursday. I hope it all turns out ok. I dont have evaporated milk for the pie....and I cant find sour cream for my squash casserole-so I've looked up some substitutes on the internet. I'll let you know if it turns out....
Please be praying for us for strength. We are feeling really tired. Our school break starts on December 18th and we are really hanging out for that break. Pray that we would work hard up until that time and have the strength to push forward until it is actually time for our break. Pray for good health. Wet season is in full swing-there are mosquitoes everywhere. That means sickness too. It is not Dengue Fever season, but I am mindful that it is possible to get Dengue. We arent in a malaria area, but you never know. We are all bitten really bad. Just pray for the Lord's protection and for us to have good health.
Well...that will do it for now. Thanks for praying.
