The river boat ride to the floating markets starts at 5am. Thankfully, our coworker stayed with Maggie so that she could keep sleeping and we did not have to take her with us! The boys wore their life jackets this time. Shane and I decided that if the boat sunk...it would be too hard for us to try and save 3 kids. Even though Maggie didnt go, we still decided life jackets was the safest for the boys. The boat ride is sort of a tourist thing to do, but it really gives an accurate picture of the life of our people group. We are able to see the people waking up and going about their morning routine of getting dressed, bathing, washing clothes, cleaning food and dishes, and going to the toilet in the river as we float by! This was our second time to do this, and it was just as eye opening as the first time. We go through villages and to a floating market where the people are selling fruit and vegetables. If you come to visit us, you will be sure to experience this!!!
