Immigration went well today. We did not have to stay very long at all. Everything should be ready tomorrow or some time later this week.
Language learning is going great. This week is turning out to be a bit of a blur because of language, the kids school, and still trying to set up house.
I will try and do a specific post on our language learning. It is late and I need to get to bed!
Guess what? Dave starts local preschool tomorrow!!! He is so excited. Over the moon! He is just so proud that he too gets to go to school! The Lord answered our prayer in a big way with Dave's school. We decided not to put Dave in Smartkids (where they were making the little mosques). When we first went to Kidsland, there was an issue with class times. They only had a class time from 10-12am for David. When we went back, yesterday, they then had a 3 year old class available from 7:30-9:30am. We tried to get Dave into a 4 year old class (because of the way his birthday falls and because of his size!!!), but they told us that they couldnt do that. Then, when we went in today, they said Dave could get into a 4 year old class from 7:30am-11:00am. I am not sure why things kept changing. It could be a bit cultural or the fact that they want more foreigners to attend the preschool. Honestly, I think it was the LORD working! You have no idea what an answer to prayer this is.
There have been some issues surrounding Noah going to the school. We have not yet made a final decision on what we will do with his school. We will not put him in at Smartkids (the little mosques). Kidsland just seems a little too baby for him and there are a few other issues too. I just talked to a friend of ours who has her 5 year old in at Kidsland, and he is really struggling with reading English. Learning to read the local lingo has overshadowed learning to read English because of the critical age so our friend's son is now having to be tutored in English and there are all sorts of issues. We think we have a solution worked out where he can still learn the local lingo and still go to school, but I will post on Noah tomorrow. Just be praying about this with him. It is a big decision. Shane feels like the answer is very clear, but Mommy isnt so sure :)!
Just keep praying for all of us until this is all settled. It is hard trying to get our heads around it all while studying the language (which is going GREAT), and trying to still get settled. Today, we found out we are going to have to get an electric hot water heater (we have a gas one). The good news about that is that Shane says he is going to "rig it up" so that we can take it with us when we move. Our coworkers who live where we are going do not have hot water easily! Then the electrician said that our fridge needs repaired, but we do think we can make it last another year or too. We also had some electrical outlets repaired and a door handle fixed. How are we paying for this? Well, we gave him one of the old tvs here at the house! hahaha! This is the same man who took our broken washing machine as payment for fixing the stove!!!
I really could go on and on about different things. So many amazing things happen to us everyday. Some cause stress and some just make us start laughing! Thanks for remembering us!
Well, I gotta get to bed. Dave starts school at 7:30am! Night!
Here is Noah buying bread from our local bread man. He drives by the house on his motorbike at 7am every morning playing a song so we know that it is him. We always run out in our pjs (even me)! The kids love it!
The most beautiful girl in the world enjoying her watermelon in her pink highchair.
Here are the boys in front of Kidsland where Dave will be going to preschool!
