A Restful Weekend

We had such a restful weekend. On Sunday, I slept in till 10am! Guess I was a little worn out from the past week or so.

We have a big week this week. We are still settling in somewhat. We had put off getting a few things we needed until we knew our visas were going to come through. We went out this morning and got the boys some beds. The are currently sharing a double, but let's face it...they need their own space. We got them a set of bunks and they are so excited. The double bed will become Maggie's bed. That way if we have people visit us then they will be able to have Maggie's room.

Shane has gone out to get the Internet fixed and an electrician is coming over soon. Our fridge is leaking water and the hot water in our shower is either not hot/cold or scalding hot! The boys hate having showers now.

Now that we are in country on our visa we have to report to the local immigration office for a meeting. We are working this out now.

We are in the process of working out the boys school. We liked kidsland...the school we visited last week, but the times aren't the best. We went to smartkids today (another school). Kidsland is run by like-minded people and smartkids is not. We were seriously considering smartkids because they use more of the local language, but when we visited today all of the kids were making little mosques!!!!! The Lord's timing is perfect hey?

So we will probably put them in kidsland a few hours each day. The purpose is for learning the language and making friends. This will not replace Noah's Queensland Education program. We will just have to work our language around their times and I am most certainly going to have to start driving here. Look out!!!!

We haven't made any final decisions so keep remembering this. Language learning is really going to fire up soon too. We just need to sort the kids stuff out.

Next week is holidays here because of the last week of Ramadan so nothing happens here next week. It will be interesting to watch all the festivities here.

Well, that is today. I am going to take my camera out the next few days and get some photos for you. Anything specific you want to know about? Just leave me a comment and I'll post about it. Or if you want to see certain photos. Just let me know.

Here is the view from the front of our house. It is a pretty quiet neighborhood except for the call and the chanting 5 times a day!

  1. Good idea on school. No need to expose that so young. put pics of neighborhood, inside house, and of course the kids.
