Dave's Dokter Visit

Praise the Lord that Dave's visit to the hospital to see the doctor was not traumatic! Dave went really well. Shane went well. It was mostly in the local language, and Shane said he understood everything great.

The doctor told Shane that Dave has atopik dermatitis. Dave had some skin issues (eczema) when he was just a small baby, but it hasnt really been an issue for some time. So, the doctor said Dave needs to stop eating eggs, chicken, etc. I think the doctor just said to cut out everything because it seems like he is allergic to something.

After Shane got home, we were talking about our milk. We have fresh cows milk here...literally straight from the cow. We wonder if that could be it. We do eat a lot of chicken because that is really the only meat there is. There is beef but it is tough and not nice to eat (if you want to keep all your teeth)!

So I'm feeling a bit frustrated with it all. If he is allergic to something....there is no doctor here that can test him to see what he is actually allergic to. We will have to do it by trail and error. We will try this allergy medicine the doctor gave us. If it doesnt work, then I am sure it must be a fungal issue. I assume that it is not a parasite. The doctors here would see plenty of that and know what it is straight away. We all have our regular worm treatments so I dont think there is anything to be concerned with there.

Oh what I wouldnt give for a Western doctor right now!!!!! I'd happily fight with the staff at Linden Clinic in Australia just because I know that my kids can see a decent doctor!
